I have had a Hotmail account for years. I didn\'t realize how much Hotmail lacked until I got a beta Gmail account (thank you Terry!). Gmail provides a whopping 2GB of space. The main thing I like about Gmail is the Label function and its email search capabilities. Took a while to get used to the new navigation interface, but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature.
Hotmail has way too many pop-ups and cookies (Freaking Avenue A!). Big limitation used to be the 2MB of storage, but just this week I noticed I now have 250MB of storage. Why didn\'t they make a big deal about this?
Bottom-line, now I check both email accounts. I only give out my Gmail address to get weaned off of Hotmail, but its just not that easy with as many newsletters and contacts that have my Hotmail address...
I\'m sure Hotmail will continue to improve as Microsoft is the master of making things only as good for the consumer as competition forces them to. Right now, my vote is for Gmail. |
