我喜欢把中国特色的事物译成英文，乐此不疲。武侠英文，挑战不小。有些词几乎无法翻译，比如穴位，我不知中医英文是怎么翻的，pivotal joints, or paralytic points？“九阴白骨掌”等武术招式，更是无从下笔。“The palm of ghastly bones in The ninth Yin”？
权当练笔，我举几个武侠英译的例子，请高手指正：
**心中一寒：“此人轻功，果然在我之上”。
“He certainly beats me, ” ** shuddered,
“He is much better at Lightness Kungfu than I am.”
嗤嗤嗤数声连响，身后忽然射出七八件暗器，分向他袭去。
There came whizzing sounds in quick succession before seven
or eight secret weapons sprang from behind, aiming straight at him.
长剑出鞘，一招“流星赶月”，剑锋却已指向对方胸口。
No soon had he whipped out the sword to practice the Meteor Chasing the Moon
than the keen blade was already pointed to the chest of his opponent.
手腕一沉，避开了这一剑。
He sank his wrist to ward off the impending blow.
她两双手轻轻一拂，指缝间突然飞出十余道银光。接着，就是一连串的惨呼。
With a whisk of her hands, a dozen or so silvery rays of lights flashing
out between her fingers, only to be followed by screams in agony here and there.
她闭上眼睛，叹息着道：“好好的一双手不用来绣花，却用来杀人，真是可惜得很……”
“what a pair of hands。。。” she sighed, closing her eyes,
“ pity that they are not meant for embroidery, but for killing.”
一个剑客的光芒与生命，往往就在他手里握着的剑上，
The glory and life of a swordsman lie in the very sword clenched in his hands.
但剑若也有情，它的光芒是否也就会变得和流星一样短促。
Yet given a feeling of its own, the sword would soon burn its glow out,
fleeting as a meteor. |
