Timbaland不是最优秀的制作人，但他无疑是2006年最火的制作人。Nelly Furtado "Promiscuous" Justin Timberlake "Sexyback" "My Love" 这几支优秀作品的优秀成绩使得Timbaland的职业生涯达到了前所未有的高峰。趁热打铁，Timbaland于四月推出自己的个人新专辑。与P. Diddy的Press Play类似，Timbaland Presents Shock Value的背面也出现了一大长串的名字。与艺人的合作往往代表着一张专辑的部分内容和走向，看看这些名字：Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake自然不可少，Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, 50 cent是rap界足够分量的人物。紧接着，让人意外的是一班与rock有关的名字，Sebastian, Hives, Fall Out Boy, She Wants Revenge。最后Elton John也凑了进来。之前Timbaland已经不只一次说过或者暗示过他要将触角延伸至rock的领域，他在制作其它作品时的确也或多或少地尝试了一些。这次，他决定在自己的专辑里大展手脚。
