Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter and his brother, fellow singer Aaron Carter, are in mourning after the sudden and mysterious death of their sister, Leslie Carter.

Leslie Carter, 25, may not have been as well known as her famous brothers, but she made regular appearances on reality TV show 'House of Carters,' which followed the lives of the five Carter children as they tried to forge out careers in Hollywood.
She was also a singer like brothers Nick, 32, and Aaron, 24, and secured a record deal in 1999 with Dreamworks Records. Her single 'Like Wow' featured on the 'Shrek' soundtrack, and made the Hot 100 after minor radio airplay.
While the cause of death is still unknown, the body of the 25 year-old is currently under examination at Erie County Medical Examiner's Office, in upstate New York.
Various news organisations are reporting that Leslie's death was the result of a drug overdose, while others cite a caffeine overdose as the cause, however nothing has been confirmed.
In a statement to the public, the Carter family said:
"Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter.
"We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time."
While Aaron has taken leave from his starring role in Broadway show 'The Fantastiks,' Nick Carter has spoken out to fans assuring them he won't be taking time off from the Backstreet Boys tour scheduled for April.
Nick's publicist, Jack Ketsoyan told E! News, "Nick Carter is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time. We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised."
"Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform," Nick said.
Various celebrities have already expressed their condolences to the family, with Lindsay Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan, tweeting: "The Lohan family sends there love to the Carter family xo."
Hip hop mogul Russell Simmons, N'Sync singer Lance Bass, and band Naughty By Nature, have also tweeted in support of the family.
Leslie is survived by her ten-month-old daughter Alyssa Jane, and her husband Mike Ashton.
