Elvis Aaron Presley, the eventual 'king of rock and roll' was born on January 8, 1935 in Mississippi (born as twins, his brother was stillborn). Raised in Memphis, Elvis began his musical journey after high school in the early 1950s when he was discovered by producer Sam Phillips at Sun Records.
